NewsJamal Musiala Reflects on Recovery and Motivation to Return Stronger
Jamal Musiala has opened up about his recovery process and the lessons learned from time away from the pitch, highlighting his motivation to return stronger and rejoin Bayern’s in-form squad.
“You realize how much you love football”
Speaking with FCBayern.com, Musiala reflected on the personal growth that comes from being sidelined and how it has deepened his appreciation for the game.
“I think you learn a lot of things when you're injured. For example, I see how much fun I usually have and how much I love football. And you have time to calmly see what you can do better. On the pitch, you don't have that time to think about everything. And of course I want to come back even better.” — Jamal Musiala
Family support through recovery
Musiala shared how important his family has been during his rehabilitation, providing balance and helping him stay mentally strong.
“I've been with my family almost all the time since my injury. They've helped me a lot — also to switch off from everything a little bit.” — Jamal Musiala
Eager to return to a winning team
The 21-year-old midfielder expressed his excitement about Bayern’s recent form and his desire to return alongside Alphonso Davies to contribute to the club’s success.
“You can see how well we're playing at the moment, how much fun they're all having. I want to be part of that and be back on the pitch — also with Phonzy. We want to have fun after our injuries and make sure we win a lot as a team.” — Jamal Musiala
Focused on coming back stronger
Musiala’s recovery is progressing positively, and his mindset reflects maturity beyond his years — determined to improve, learn, and return as a better version of himself both technically and mentally.
